Bitternut Hickory

 A tall (50-75 ft), fast-growing tree important ecologically for soil enrichment, streambank stabilization, and providing food and shelter to wildlife. This tree’s hard, durable timber can be used for a variety of purposes. This species tolerates a wide variety of soil conditions but is most commonly found along streambanks or in swamps.
