Hybrid Bluegill/Sunfish

Hybrid bluegill are produced by combining a male bluegill with a female green sunfish producing mostly male fish, making the pond less likely overpopulation than with other bluegill varieties. Bluegills eat a variety of foods such as minnows, food pellets, and insects. Bluegills prefer warm ponds which need management to limit overpopulating and stunted growth.
